Kulgam, 09 Nov(KNS): The Department of Agriculture organized a Kisan Mela-cum-District Level Exhibition on fruits and vegetables at KVK Pombay, Kulgam, under the centrally sponsored Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) scheme.
MLA Kulgam, M.Y. Tarigami, inaugurated the Kisan Mela. Present at the event were DDC Chairperson Mohammad Afzal Parray, DC Kulgam Athar Amir Khan, Joint Director Agriculture Sartaj Ahmed Shah, Professor and Head of KVK Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, Chief Agriculture Officer, and other officials from the Agriculture Department.
MLA Kulgam M.Y. Tarigami and DC Kulgam Athar Amir Khan inspected stalls set up by departments including Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Apiculture, Sheep and Animal Husbandry, showcasing items related to agriculture and allied sectors.

The DDC Chairperson encouraged people to adopt new techniques and innovations to enhance the agriculture sector and productivity. He also urged them to utilize available government welfare schemes for farmers.
Farmers showed interest in visiting the stalls to learn about government schemes related to agriculture and allied sectors. Farm machinery, hybrid seeds, and varieties of fruits and vegetables were the main attractions for the farmers.
Also present were DDC Chairperson Mohammad Afzal Parray, DC Kulgam Athar Amir Khan, Joint Director Agriculture Sartaj Ahmed Shah, Professor and Head of KVK Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, Chief Agriculture Officer, and other senior officers and officials from the Agriculture Department.(KNS).
