MMU Calls for Shutdown in Kashmir to Protest Pahalgam Terror Attack

Srinagar, April 22 (KNS): The Mutahida Majlis Ulema (MMU) has called for a complete shutdown across Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in response to the brutal terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam. The attack, which resulted in the killing of 26 innocent lives, has deeply shocked the region.

In a statement, the MMU condemned the killings, quoting a verse from the Quran: “Whoever kills an innocent soul…it is as if he had slain mankind entirely.” The religious group expressed that such acts of violence are not only abhorrent in Islam, but also go against the fundamental principles of humanity and peace.

“The people of Kashmir are familiar with the grief of losing loved ones in such senseless acts.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThis gruesome tragedy is condemned by all who believe in peace and goodwill,” the MMU said, emphasizing that Islam, a religion of peace, strictly opposes such violence.
