Srinagar, 03 July (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi and Senior Leader and former Speaker Mubarak Gul on Wednesday expressed anguish over the fire incident at Firdous Colony in Eidgah, Srinagar. The fire, which tragically damaged Masjid Umer and several residential houses, has caused significant distress among the local community.

The leaders conveyed their heartfelt sympathies to the affected families and expressed solidarity with the residents impacted by this unfortunate event. Meanwhile Gul urged the LG administration to ensure an immediate assessment of losses for compensation. He requested the administration to take swift action to compensate those who have suffered losses due to the fire. Gul also reiterated the demand for a comprehensive review of fire safety audit of all the densely inhabited areas & religious places in J&K. (KNS)
