Srinagar, October 18(KNS): The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha has appointed Mubarik Gul as the Speaker Protem of the Union Territory's Legislative Assembly.
The order, issued by the LG, empowers Gul to administer the oath or affirmation to the newly elected Members of the Legislative Assembly for Jammu and Kashmir on October 21, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the Legislative Assembly in Srinagar.
"I, Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by Section 24 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, do hereby appoint Mr.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelMubarik Gul, as Speaker Protem who shall administer the oath/ affirmation to the Members of the Legislative Assembly for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in terms of the Section 24 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019 on 21st October, 2024 at 02:00 pm in the Legislative Assembly at Srinagar," reads an order issued.
"He shall also discharge the functions of the Speaker till the election of the Speaker is held," the order said.(KNS).
