Mughal Road Reopens for Traffic After Winter Closure

Poonch, Apr 15 (KNS): The District Administration Poonch has allowed the annual reopening of the Mughal Road for vehicular traffic after the clearance of snow accumulation and landslides along the stretch from Buffliaz to Peer Ki Gali.


As per an official order issued by the District Magistrate Poonch, movement of single-lane traffic has been permitted on the Mughal Road from Buffliaz to Peer Ki Gali starting from April 15, 2025. Vehicles will be allowed to ply on this route daily between 10:00 am to 3:00 pm only.

The decision follows clearance operations carried out by the 79 RCC (GREF) under NH-701A, which confirmed the road's readiness for safe vehicular movement.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe clearance was officially intimated by the Chief Engineer Project Sampark and the Officer Commanding 79 RCC through a communication dated April 14, 2025.

To ensure smooth traffic flow and strict adherence to the order, the administration has directed the deployment of adequate personnel at key check posts including Behramgalla, Buffliaz, and Poshana. The Sr. Superintendent of Police Poonch, Sub Divisional Magistrate Surankote, and Dy.SP Traffic Rajouri-Poonch have been tasked with monitoring the arrangements.(KNS)
