Gulmarg 07 Dec. (KNS):Department of Tourism and J&K Cable Car Corporation today organised a grand event where tourists and locals gathered at Kongdori in famous tourist destination Gulmarg for a musical celebration.
As per Kashmir News Service (KNS) The Director of Tourism Raja Yaqoob Farooq (IRS) expressed optimism, stating that the days when Tourists were in fear, afraid of visiting in Kashmir are over now, attributing the positive change to the Abrogation of Article 370 and the decline in terrorism.
Speaking Exclusive In an interview with Kashmir News Service (KNS) the Director highlighted the remarkable increase in tourist numbers, breaking records since the newfound peace. He told KNS That The Tourism Department is actively working to showcase lesser-known destinations, including organizing Winter festivals in places like Bangus, promoting rural tourism, and ensuring easier access to border destinations.
The Director emphasized the success of today's event, with a significant turnout of both tourists and locals participating in the musical festivities. It was noted that the atmosphere reflected a sense of security, with tourists freely singing and dancing in Gulmarg, underscoring the newfound peace prevailing in the region.
Looking ahead, the Tourism Department is committed to further efforts to attract a growing number of tourists to Kashmir, fostering a more peaceful and vibrant tourism landscape.(KNS)
