Srinagar, April 25 (KNS): Awami National Conference leader Muzaffar Shah has called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to hold direct talks with Kashmiri political and civil society leaders following the deadly Pahalgam attack that killed innocent tourists.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Shah stressed the need for the central leadership to understand public sentiment in Kashmir without filters. He praised the unity shown at an all-party meeting chaired by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, where leaders unanimously condemned the attack.
Shah urged BJP leaders to maintain restraint in their public statements to prevent harassment of innocent Kashmiris outside the region.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"Kashmiris did not carry out this attack," he stated firmly. "We demand that the PM and Home Minister make it clear: punish the guilty, but protect innocent Kashmiris from hate."
He also honored Nazakat, a local hero who saved 11 tourists, including a BJP youth leader, and praised the medical team at GMC Anantnag for their lifesaving efforts. "Their bravery and dedication counter false narratives against Kashmiris," Shah said.
A moment of silence was held for the victims, with special tribute paid to a Kashmiri who died shielding tourists. "His courage reflects the true spirit of Kashmir," Shah added.(KNS)
