 Srinagar, Nov 04 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said that his government will make every effort for restoration of statehood.

In his maiden address in legislative assembly, Sinha said that the Govt is planning to provide 100 free electricity units to underprivileged families, ensuring relief for many households.

He also reiterated plans to work closely with the central government to advance development in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking on the aspirations of the people, Sinha expressed his support for the statehood resolution, which was introduced earlier by the government. “My government will make all efforts for the restoration of full statehood and constitutional guarantees available to the state,” Sinha said. The Lieutenant Governor also announced employment targets, with three lakh jobs to be created through the effective implementation of government schemes and programs. "A single-window system will be introduced for the agricultural sector to streamline support for farmers," he added.

On the industrial front, Sinha revealed plans to develop 46 new industrial estates across Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at boosting the local economy and attracting investments.

Highlighting the Union Government’s ongoing support, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly affirmed his promise to restore J&K’s statehood.(KNS)
