Srinagar, Jan 17 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Transport Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan on Friday emphasized the strict enforcement of traffic rules to minimize accidents and ensure public safety.
He urged drivers to wear seat belts and motorcyclists to wear helmets, warning of stringent action against violators. "If you don't follow the rules, we will take action, including license cancellation, vehicle seizure, or penalties for reckless driving," he stated.
35 transporters in Kashmir and around 100 in Jammu have applied for Vehicle Scrap policy in J&K, he added.
Mahajan also addressed the Transport Subsidy Scheme, which aims to phase out vehicles older than 15 years. He explained that the scheme applies to buses, mini-buses, and Matadors, requiring scrapping and chassis certification before application.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
