Srinagar May 31 (KNS): The Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation (NLCO), in collaboration with Crescent School and Bilaliya Educational Institute, along with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, Kashmir Concern, and Agri Industries Vikas Chamber, organized a significant awareness programme on No Tobacco Day at Crescent Public School, Naseem Bagh.
In a statement issued by NLCO Chairman Manzoor Wangnoo, he said, “We had the honor of hosting Hon’ble Mr. Justice Tashi Rabstan, Judge of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh and Executive Chairman of the J&K Legal Services Authority, as our esteemed chief guest.”
The key message of the event was that charity begins at home, and all present resolved to make our homes and offices tobacco-free. “I personally pledged to ensure that my hotel premises are smoke-free,” Wangnoo vowed. The students also pledged to resist the interference of the tobacco industry.

The organizers of the event paid special thanks to Mr. Jehangir Bakshi, Secretary of DLSA Srinagar, for his unwavering support and guidance in organizing this event. Manzoor Wangnoo expressed special gratitude to Justice Rabstan for announcing the establishment of two legal aid clinics at Crescent Public School and Bilaliya Educational Institute to provide legal awareness to students, faculty, schools, and the community.
