Srinagar, Mar 15 (KNS): Former Chief Minister J&K Omar Abdullah Friday said he has no expectation from Election Commission of India, and added the poll body should step ahead to establish democracy in the country.
Talking to reporters here, Omar Abdullah as per KNS said that he has no expectations from Election Commission of India. He said the poll body should step ahead and play its role in establishing democracy in the country.
"J&K is without elections for last ten years. Former President Ram Nath Kovid led committe have submitted its report on One Nation One Election.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelIf they are really concerned in holding concurrent polls across the country try, let they start it with Jammu and Kashmir," Omar Abdullah told reporters.
He said "If ECI is not willing to hold simultaneous polls then they are befooling people of the country".
Omar said that reportedly ECI is holding a press conference tomorrow to schedule poll dates, and this is the high time for them to announce concurrent polls in Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
