Srinagar, Oct 15 (KNS): Omar Abdullah is set to chair his first official meeting at the Civil Secretariat following his swearing-in as the Chief Minister of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
A circular from the General Administration Department (GAD) announced that the meeting will take place on October 16, 2024 (Wednesday) at 3:00 PM in the Meeting Hall on the 3rd floor of the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar.
The meeting will focus on setting strategic objectives for the coming months, aiming to foster effective governance and community development. The circular, signed by Rohit Sharma, Additional Secretary to the Government, has been shared with all relevant administrative officials, including the Chief Secretary and the Commissioner/Secretary of the General Administration Department.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The NC-Congress alliance, which won a combined 48 seats out of the total 90 in the recent J&K elections, is set to form the new government. The NC secured 42 seats, while Congress won six.
Abdullah was unanimously elected as the leader of the NC legislature party, and this will be his second term as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha Sinha on Monday invited National Conference leader Omar Abdullah to take oath as the chief minister of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir on October 16.
This comes a day after the Centre revoked the President’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir, paving the way towards the formation of a new government in the valley.(KNS).
