Baramulla, Dec 10 (KNS) : A one-day seminar titled “Drug Addiction: Breaking the Chains, Prevention & Remedy, and the Role of Society & Parents in its Containment” was organised on Wednesday by Civil Society Hadipora in collaboration with Hadipora Welfare Forum at Government Higher Secondary School Hadipora.

The event was graced by ADC Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina (JKAS) as the chief guest, while SDPO Rafiabad, Sharafat Rubani (JKPS) attended as the guest of honour. Dr. Owais, Psychiatrist at GMC Handwara, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the alarming rise in substance abuse and the collective responsibility of communities in fighting the menace.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Several other dignitaries, social activists, and educationists were also present as special guests and shared their views on strengthening awareness and counselling mechanisms at the grassroots level.

Earlier, Dr. Hamidullah Mir, Chairman Civil Society Hadipora, delivered the welcome address, stressing the need for sustained public participation in anti-drug campaigns. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Tariq Rahi, Chairman Welfare Forum Hadipora.

The organisers reiterated their commitment to continue holding awareness programmes to safeguard youth and promote a healthier, drug-free society.(KNS)
