Open Merit Students Appeal to J&K MLAs for Justice Over New Reservation Policy

Srinagar, Jan 16 (KNS):Jammu and Kashmir’s open merit students have voiced their distress over the recently introduced reservation policy, urging the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to intervene.

In a heartfelt appeal, the students stated, “To all the MLAs of Jammu and Kashmir, we, the open merit students, entrusted you with our votes, believing you would advocate for justice on our behalf. The new reservation policy has disrupted our lives, plunging us into despair, anxiety, and distress.”

They stated that merit should remain the primary criterion for academic and professional opportunities, as it ensures fairness and encourages excellence.

The students called upon MLAs to address their grievances and push for a more balanced approach that considers their aspirations. They urged the elected representatives to uphold the principles of justice and fairness, which they had promised during their campaigns. (KNS)
