Minister says government departments functioning properly, calls opposition protests street politics

Srinagar, Oct 30 (KNS): Minister Javed Rana on Thursday said that the opposition had no real issues to raise in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and was wasting the House’s time by resorting to protests.

“The opposition has no issues at all. They are wasting time. If they have to make noise, they can do it on the streets or at the bus stand, not in the Assembly,” Rana said while speaking to reporters after the Question Hour was disrupted.

He said the government was functioning properly and all departments were working efficiently. “The Omar Abdullah-led government has been running for a year. Work has been done in Jal Shakti, R&B, and other departments. We worked for restoration after the floods, and now permanent restoration is in progress,” he said.

Referring to allegations by the Leader of Opposition and BJP members about irregularities in the Roads and Buildings Department, Rana dismissed them as baseless.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“There is no such scandal. Nothing is achieved by talking,” he said.

Rana accused the opposition of trying to divert attention from its past record. “They have destroyed the state and broken the system in their ten years. Now, to hide their failures, they are creating noise in the House,” he said as per KNS.

He said the government welcomes any issue that serves public interest. “Whether the issue comes from the opposition or the government, we will cooperate and try to implement it if it benefits the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Rana termed the current Assembly session as short but successful and said pending bills and resolutions would be taken up in the next session.(KNS)
