Orientation Programme for Newly Elected MLAs of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Set to Begin Tomorrow

Jammu January 08 (KNS):

The Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE), in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, is set to host a three-day orientation programme for the newly elected Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) starting tomorrow, 9th January 2025. 

The event will take place in the Central Hall of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in Jammu, with the aim of equipping legislators with the knowledge and skills needed for effective governance and legislative functioning.

The programme will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, with Advocate Abdul Rahim Rather, Speaker of the Assembly, delivering the welcome address.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHarivansh, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, will also address the gathering during the inaugural session.

The first day will feature sessions on the role of PRIDE in capacity building, effective legislative practices, and an overview of the committee system in Indian legislatures. Key speakers include P.K. Mallick, Director of PRIDE, Harivansh, and Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, Chairperson of the Committee on Estimates.

The orientation aims to strengthen democratic practices in the region by empowering the newly elected representatives.
