Srinagar, Feb 4 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Hajj Committee has received around 4,200 applications for Hajj 2025, out of which 3,622 pilgrims from the Union Territory will proceed for the sacred journey. Executive Officer of J&K State Hajj Committee, Dr. Shujaat Ahmad Qureshi, said while outlining the upcoming process for the pilgrims.
According to Dr. Qureshi, the embarkation points for J&K pilgrims will include Srinagar and Delhi, with a small group of around 20 traveling through Mumbai. The application process took place in August-September 2024. Currently, the second installment is being deposited, and the submission of documents is ongoing, which will continue until February 18.
Following this, a three-phase training program has been scheduled to prepare the pilgrims.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe first training session will be held in February, while the remaining two sessions are planned for March and April. These training programs aim to familiarize the pilgrims with the rituals and physical requirements of Hajj.
Dr. Qureshi further informed that the departure of the first batch of pilgrims is expected between April 29 and the first week of May 2025. He urged the intending pilgrims to begin their preparations, focusing on both the spiritual and physical aspects of the journey. He advised them to start practicing walking at least 3.5 km daily, as it will help them complete two Tawaf (circumambulations) around the Kaaba with ease during Hajj.
