Srinagar, May 10 (KNS): India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said on Saturday said that Pakistan breached the ceasefire agreement just hours after it was reached between the Directors General of Military Operations of both countries.

Addressing a press briefing in New Delhi, Misri said the Indian armed forces are giving a “firm and appropriate response” to the latest violations along the Line of Control  and the international border.

“This is a clear breach of the understanding reached earlier today between the DGMOs of both countries,” Misri said. “We take these violations very seriously.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He urged Pakistan to act with responsibility and seriousness. “We call upon Pakistan to take appropriate steps to end these violations and de-escalate the situation,” he added.

The Foreign Secretary said that Indian forces remain on high alert and have been directed to respond strongly to any further provocation.

Misri said that the government and armed forces are closely monitoring the situation and are prepared to take necessary steps to safeguard national security.(KNS)
