Parliamentary Panel on Home Affairs to Visit J&K from April 26; 25 Liaison Officers Appointed

Srinagar, Apr 19 (KNS): A six-day visit by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs to Jammu and Kashmir is scheduled to begin on April 26, and in preparation, the UT administration has appointed 25 Liaison Officers to assist with the visit.

Sources told KNS that the panel from the Ministry of Home Affairs will be in the region from April 26 to May 1, 2025, to undertake a detailed review of various sectors and ongoing developmental initiatives.

In an official order issued by the Jammu and Kashmir government—accessed by KNS—15 officers have been appointed for the Jammu Division and 10 for the Kashmir Division to facilitate and coordinate the committee’s engagements during the tour.

The officers, drawn from multiple departments, have been entrusted with responsibilities to ensure the smooth conduct of the committee’s visit. For Jammu Division, key officers include Abhishake Abrol (Additional Secretary, School Education), Harpal Singh, Rachna Sharma (Information Technology), Sheetal Pandita (Rural Development), and Manisha (Directorate of School Education).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

For the Kashmir Division, officers such as Owais Mushtaq (Health & Medical Education), Nuzhat Khurshid (Tourism), Ata-ul Munim Tak, Shabnam Rashid (State Taxes), Raeis Ahmad Bhat, Shurjeel Ali Naiku, Mir Zahida (IMPA&RD), Najwan Nazki (FCS&CA), Suhail ul Islam (SMC), Sartaj Hussain (Estates), Mantasha Binti Rashid (Rural Sanitation), Ajaz Ahmad Shah, Bashir Ahmad Lone (GM DIC Kulgam), Nasir Mehmood Khan (Tourism), and Syed Nadeem Iqbal Andrabi (Industries & Commerce) have been designated to oversee coordination in their respective departments.

As per the order, all appointed officers are required to report to the Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir respectively on April 23, 2025, for briefing on their duties and responsibilities during the committee's visit.—(KNS)
