Handwara, March 11: The Associate District Hospital Handwara is grappling with a severe shortage of accommodation, causing distress to thousands of patients who visit daily from Kupwara, Keran, Lolab, Tangdar, Qalamabad, Langate, and other neighboring areas.

Local residents voiced their frustration, highlighting that the issue has persisted for years without resolution. Despite the commencement of a 500-bed hospital building in 2019, the project remains unfinished even after five years, further exacerbating the challenges faced by patients and healthcare providers.

Speaking on the matter, Principal of GMC Handwara, Dr.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelKhursheed Ahmad, assured the public that the new hospital building will be operational within a week, aiming to ease the ongoing accommodation crisis.

Addressing concerns about diagnostic services, Dr. Ahmad acknowledged that the existing CT scan machine is outdated but confirmed that a new 160-slice CT scan machine will be installed next month to enhance medical imaging and patient care.

Patients and locals are now hopeful that these long-awaited developments will be executed without further delays, ultimately improving healthcare services in the region.(KNS)
