Srinagar July 24 (KNS) : A delegation of the Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) friday visited several flood-affected areas of the Chanapora Constituency, including Padshah Bagh, Nadru, Nowgam, Peer Bagh and Rajbagh, to assess the situation firsthand and interact with residents facing hardships due to waterlogging and flooding.

According to a press release issued here, The delegation was led by PDP Spokesperson and In-charge Chanapora Constituency, Mohammad Iqbal Tramboo, and accompanied by Party Spokesperson Shokia Qureshi, District Secretary Srinagar Mohammad Altaf, Organising Secretary Omar Dar, Coordinator Chanapora Constituency Fayaz Ahmad Reshi, Abdul Qayoom, Maqsood Ahmad and other party workers.

During the visit, the delegation took stock of the situation on the ground and listened to the grievances of affected residents. The PDP leaders assured the affected families that the party stands firmly with them during this difficult time and will continue to raise their genuine concerns at every appropriate forum.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Iqbal Tramboo urged the administration to immediately intensify dewatering operations, restore essential services and provide prompt relief and compensation to the affected families. He stressed that the recurring flooding in Chanapora reflects the urgent need for a comprehensive drainage system and long-term infrastructure planning to prevent such situations in the future.

The PDP delegation called for swift government intervention and immediate measures to address the hardships being faced by residents. It reiterated the party’s commitment to standing with the people of Chanapora and ensuring that their genuine concerns are effectively addressed.(KNS)
