PDP’s Zuhaib Yousuf Mir Hits Back at Omar Abdullah, Urges Him to ‘Speak Up’ Against BJP, Not Mehbooba Mufti

Jammu, June 20 (KNS): PDP leader Zuhaib Yousuf Mir has hit out at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a strongly worded open letter posted on social media, accusing him of shirking responsibility and diverting attention by targeting PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti.

In a post on X, Mir Addressed Abdullah directly, “You projected yourself to be the messiah who had dawned upon Kashmir post-2019. At least this is what the content of your morally charged and eloquent speeches was.”He criticized the J&K CM for backing away from his promises soon after assuming office, comparing the shift to the coldest days of chilaikallan.

In a pointed remark, Mir said, “You are now the head of 50 MLAs and all you want is to pin point Mehboobaji for making you remind your promises. If questions are not asked to the incumbent, then who should we ask?Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel” He urged Abdullah to take accountability instead of criticizing others, stating, “Your own incapacities should not make you a critic. It reflects weakness.” Mir also accused the CM of being soft on the BJP, who, he claimed, are being pandered to despite being labeled as an obstacle by Abdullah himself. “We have a newsletter of the party named ‘Speak Up’... Maybe it’s time you should understand the course of your next four years and ‘speak up’—not to Mehboobaji but to the ones you are pandering to in Delhi,” Mir concluded.

The exchange marks a fresh escalation in political rhetoric between PDP and the ruling J&K government led by the National Conference, amid ongoing debates over the implementation of reservation policies and post-2019 constitutional changes in the region.(KNS)
