Srinagar, Sep 01(KNS): Former Deputy Mayor Sheikh Imran has taken a strong stance against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for failing to engage with Jamaat-e-Islami in the current political context.
Imran pointed out that the PDP had previously sought Jamaat’s support to secure electoral victories and that the party’s inception was significantly aided by Jamaat’s silent cadre.
Imran emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami, being an older and larger party than the PDP, deserved to be approached by the PDP once again. He criticized the PDP for not seeking Jamaat’s cooperation, suggesting that the party's refusal to do so might be due to a sense of superiority or an inability to confront Jamaat directly for various reasons, including potential embarrassment.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Referring to the PDP, Imran questioned, why should Jamaat have approached you?. "In the past, you reached out to them, requested their support and won elections," he said.
"In fact, PDP's very inception was due to the silent cadre and support of Jamaat—something you seem to have forgotten. Allow me the honor of refreshing your memory. And let me to remind you that Jamaat is an older party than yours and has always been and will continue to be, larger than PDP. I want to emphasize that you should have approached them again—unless you now believe you are bigger than Jamaat or feel you can't face them directly for known reasons or some embarrasment," he added.(KNS).
