 Srinagar, June 20 (KNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that preparations for assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir have begun, 

He said this during his speech at SKICC during the 'Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K' event in Srinagar where he is on  two-day visit. 

 

"The people of Jammu and Kashmir elect their representatives at the local level, through them you find ways to solve problems, what can be better than this?, " he said according to the KNS correspondent.

 

" Therefore, preparations for the Assembly elections have also started. The time is not far when you will elect the new government of Jammu and Kashmir with your votes. 

 

Signalling for restoration of statehood, the Prime Minister said that that day will also come soon, when Jammu and Kashmir will once again make its future better as a state.

" Youths of JK have ensured victory of democracy in the Lok Sabha polls," he said according to the KNS correspondent.

 

Modi also said the Central government is making efforts to bridge the divides: “Duri Dil ke rahe ho ya Delhi ke, we are trying our best to erase them. Now in real sense the the wall of Article 370 has been broken down.”

 

PM Modi also inaugurated 84 major developmental projects valued at over Rs 1,500 crores and also launched the agriculture-related projects worth Rs 1,800 crores and the construction of new national highways and expressways. 

 

"Now every Indian feels proud when seeing pictures of the world's highest bridge on the river Chenab," he said. (KNS)
