Srinagar, Jun 25 (KNS) : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested former president of the Kashmir Bar Association Mian Qayoom in connection with the murder of Babar Qadri.
Qadri was shot dead at his residence in the Hawal area of Srinagar in September 2020.
An official said that former Kashmir Bar Association president advocate Mian Qayoom has been arrested in connection with Qadri’s killing.
“During the investigation Qayoom's name came up as the main conspirator in the case,” he added.

Soon after the killing of the Qadri, Police had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and the later handed over to the case to Jammu and Kashmir State Investigation Agency (SIA).
In August 2022, police had seized Digital devices, bank statements and other documents during the searches in premises of Qayoom and other two lawyers.
In September 2023, the SIA announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for information about Qadri’s killers. (KNS).
