Srinagar December 16 (KNS): In order to bridge the gap between police & public, Police facilitated Police Community Partnership Group meetings (PCPG) in Handwara & Kulgam.
In Handwara, police facilitated a Police Community Partnership Group meeting (PCPG) at High School Khanoo Kralgund. The meeting was chaired by SSP Handwara accompanied by other Police officers of PD Handwara and was attended by Numberdars, Chowkidars respectable citizens & civil societies of concerned area including members of Auqaf Committees etc.
In Kulgam, on the directions of SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal-IPS, PCPG meetings were held at Police Station Devsar, Police Station Manzgam, and Police Post Jawahar Tunnel. These meetings were chaired by respective jurisdictional officers and were attended by respectable citizens including market associations, auqaf bodies, chowkidars, numberdars, sarpanchs, panchs, youth and other representatives of Pahloo, Malwan, Devsar, Manzgam, Sadiwara and other adjacent villages.
During these interactions, participants raised various issues of public importance.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelReferring to the issues highlighted by the participants, chairing officers assured them that genuine issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities for their immediate redressal besides issues related to Police will be resolved in shortest possible time. The participants were stressed to co-operate with Police in maintaining law and order in the area and in identifying anti-national elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment.
Addressing the participants, officers said that police is making all out efforts in wiping out the curse of drug abuse and other anti-social/national activities. Officers also exhorted the participants to come forward and support the Police in making a drugs and crime free districts, for which participants in the meeting assured their full co-operation to Police in tackling social evils besides, appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinions freely.(KNS)
