Jammu, Mar 11 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly witnessed intense debates and protests on Tuesday over the police crackdown on daily-wagers protesting for their regularization. The incident led to a walkout by BJP legislators.
After the Question Hour, BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa raised concerns regarding the police action against daily-wagers. “The police is neither under my control nor under yours (Randhawa). Instead of bringing it up here, you should raise it with those who control the police, just a few kilometers away from this House,” Omar said. He emphasized that the issue of daily-wagers is not just financial, but also a humanitarian concern. He added, “Lathis shouldn’t have been used against them, and I am confident this issue has already reached the police. (KNS)
