Police rescue pregnant woman in Handwara amid heavy snowfall

Srinagar February 27 (KNS): A commendable display of swift action, Handwara Police on late night Thursday rescued a pregnant woman amidst heavy snowfall.

Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that Police Station Handwara received a call from the CMO Kupwara and BMEO Health Department regarding a patient, Aasima Bano Wife of Tariq Ahmad Bhat, R/O Harnipora Shailal, Handwara.

The patient was experiencing labor pain and required immediate assistance to be shifted to GMC Handwara.

A police team from the station contacted the patient and reached the said location promptly and transported the patient along with her husband to GMC Handwara in a Police Rakshak safely.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Despite the difficult conditions, including treacherous roads, the rescue team evacuated the pregnant woman in the Departmental vehicle Gypsy of Police to GMC Handwara thereby the said pregnant lady was received/evacuated by medical team.

The locals, particularly the family members of the pregnant woman, expressed gratitude and admiration for the prompt response and timely assistance provided by Police during this critical situation.

The mother has given birth to a healthy baby boy and both mother and newborn are in stable condition, health official said.(KNS)
