Handwara, Nov 23 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said that it attached another property of notorious drug peddler in Handwara area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district.
A police spokesperson said that land measuring 07 Marlas belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Fayaz Ahmad Malla Son of Gh. Mohi-ud-Din Malla resident of Muqam Himwanpora Kralgund Handwara under section 68-Fof NDPS Act 1985.
"The said peddler is found involved NDPS cases including FIR No.67/2020 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act of PS Kralgund, Case FIR No. 73/2022 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act of PS Kralgund," the Police added.
He said that the property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of Investigation/Enquiry conducted by Handwara Police.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe property was prima facie accrued from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic Substances by the owner, he added.
He further said that rhe notorious drug peddler is currently detained under PIT-NDPS Act and is lodged at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu. "This operation reaffirms the commitment of Handwara Police to combat the drug menace," he added.
Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Handwara Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable properties which has been raised/ used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddler in the Police District Handwara.(KNS)
