Srinagar, December 21 (KNS): The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several areas of the valley to carry out essential maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the power supply from the 33kV Gopalpora-Pahalgam line to receiving stations Pahalgam, GIS Pahalgam, and Batkoot will remain affected on December 22 and 24 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The affected areas include Aishmuqam, Pahalgam Town, Chandanwari, Arrow, Yanner, Batkoot, and Laddi. This shutdown is necessary to replace damaged pole tops with new poles.
Similarly, the power supply from the 33kV Shariefabad-Narbal line to receiving stations Narbal, Sanoor, and Mazhama will be disrupted on December 23 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Areas including Narbal, Mazhama, Kawoosa, Sozeith, and Lawaypora will face outages to facilitate the erection of poles and complete the twining work to connect Baba Reshi Flour Mill with the 33kV Narbal line.

Furthermore, the power supply from the 33kV Shariefabad-Wadwan line to receiving stations Shariefabad, Soibugh, and Wadwan will remain affected on December 22 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Areas such as Shariefabad, Durbal, Defence Shariefabad, Daharmuna, Wadwan, Russu, and Pimus will experience power interruptions due to the ongoing pole erection work.
As per the KNS, the KPDCL has requested the cooperation of residents in the affected areas and urged them to make necessary arrangements during the scheduled outages. The maintenance work is part of efforts to improve the reliability and efficiency of the power distribution network. (KNS)
