Srinagar, May 27 (KNS): In a remarkable feat of medical care, doctors at 92 Base Hospital, BB Cantt Srinagar, under the aegis of Chinar Corps, saved the life of a baby girl born nearly three months premature. Delivered at just 26 weeks and 5 days, the baby weighed only 750 grams at birth.
Her 30-year-old mother, suffering from a blood disorder known as immune thrombocytopenia, faced a life-threatening complication—placental abruption—causing heavy internal bleeding. She lost around 1.5 litres of blood and went into shock, prompting an emergency C-section to save both lives.
The newborn, extremely fragile and struggling to breathe, was immediately shifted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelFor the next 65 days, the baby remained under intensive medical care.
