Jammu January 6 (KNS) : Priya Sethi, BJP National Executive Member (NEM), chaired a meeting of prominent activists of Jammu South district at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, as part of the “Samvidhan Gaurav Abhiyaan” initiative. She was accompanied by Ayodhya Gupta, District Prabhari; Rekha Mahajan, District President; Neha Mahajan, Mahila Morcha General Secretary; Rakesh Sangram, Incharge of the Abhiyaan for District South; and Amit Sharma.
The meeting, convened by Rekha Mahajan, focused on detailed discussions about the programmes under the “Samvidhan Gaurav Abhiyaan.”
Addressing the gathering, Priya Sethi highlighted the party’s intent to showcase the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in various fields through a series of programmes scheduled across the Union Territory from January 11 to January 25.
She criticized the Congress party for sidelining Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy during its 55 years of rule, stating, "While Congress awarded Bharat Ratna to its first family leaders and built their memorials, it deliberately deprived Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar of his due recognition."
Priya Sethi lauded the Modi Government’s initiative to honor Dr. Ambedkar by developing five key sites associated with his life into "Panchteerth." These include his birthplace in Mhow, the London residence where he stayed, Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur where he embraced Buddhism, Mahaparinirvan Sthal in Delhi where he attained eternal peace, and Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai where he was cremated.
She emphasized that this campaign reflects the Modi government’s commitment to preserving the legacy of leaders who championed social justice and equality.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“This recognition not only honors Dr. Ambedkar but also inspires younger generations to uphold the principles of equality, liberty, and fraternity enshrined in our Constitution,” she added.
Priya Sethi outlined the upcoming activities under the initiative, including constituency-level public meetings involving local MLAs, district teams, and SC Morcha leaders, with state leaders serving as keynote speakers. A grand public meeting under the slogan “Our Samvidhan, Our Swabhiman” will be organized by the SC Morcha in Jammu.
Educational activities such as debates, essay writing, and speech competitions on the theme “Our Constitution, Our Pride” will be conducted in schools, colleges, universities, and SC hostels, spearheaded by Yuva Morcha. Social Media teams will organize online essay competitions and quizzes, while district teams will conduct quiz competitions in a minimum of two and a maximum of ten schools in each constituency.
On January 25, BJP workers and supporters across all mandals will gather to recite the Preamble and Directive Principles, followed by a brief talk on their significance.
Ayodhya Gupta praised Dr. Ambedkar’s monumental contributions, commending the party’s decision to organize such impactful programmes.
Rekha Mahajan assured that the district team would diligently follow the programme schedule to ensure its resounding success.(KNS)
