Tangdar, Oct 7 (KNS) : A massive protest erupted in the Tangdar area of Karnah, Kupwara today, as hundreds gathered to express their outrage over alleged blasphemous remarks made by Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati against the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Protestors from various villages marched through the streets, chanting slogans in solidarity with Islam and demanding strict action against the controversial figure.
The demonstration was led by prominent religious figures such as Mufti Tahir Nikash and Mufti Ata ur Rehman, alongside Beoparmandal President Haji Tasleem Mir, political leaders, and social activists. In their speeches, these leaders condemned the remarks made by Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, calling them deeply offensive and urging the administration to take swift and decisive action. Security forces were deployed to maintain order, and the protest remained peaceful throughout. Local authorities reassured the crowd that the matter would be thoroughly investigated, and necessary legal actions would be taken against the individual responsible.
At the conclusion of the protest, talking with Kashmir news service(KNS) Mufti Ata ur Rehman and Mufti Tahir Nikash said that we submitted a formal memorandum to the authorities, urging immediate action against Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati. This protest is one of many happening across the region as the Muslim community continues to express its deep hurt and concern over any perceived disrespect towards their beloved Prophet (SAW).(KNS)
