Mumbai July 5 (KNS): Leading Businessman of Maharashtra and Chairman Ashimi Group Pyare Zia Khan has been appointed as Chairman Maharashtra State Minorities Commission. Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat noted Social activist and writer has hailed his appointment . He appealed to Pyare Khan to work for upliftment of Muslim community in Maharashtra and try his level best to handhold the muslims in the education sector.
The Maharashtra Minorities Development Department issued a notification in this regard in Mumbai on Thursday. Pyare Zia Khan is also Chairperson of Hazrat Baba Tajaudin Trust Nagpur and is known as Oxygen man of India as he provided oxygen tankers free of cost to many hospitals in Nagpur during COVID 19 pandemic.
Pyare Zia Khan had visited Srinagar last year in March and had addressed a business leadership conclave at Entrepreneurs Development Institute-EDI on the invitation of the then Director EDI Ajaz Ahmad Bhat.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelDuring the conclave Pyare Khan had narrated his own life story to the participants and said that he began his career as an orange seller near Nagpur Railway station and then purchased an autorickshaw and finally became owner of 500 trucks within a period of 15 years. Several social activists & businessmen of Maharashtra including Haji Abrar Siddiqui , Dr Owais Siddiqui of Nagpur have hailed Prare Khan’s appointment as Chairman of State Minorities Commission. Pertinent to mention that this post is equivalent to State Cabinet Minister and the term lasts for 5 years.(KNS)
