Srinagar, the summer capital, experienced a milder night with a low of minus 1.3 degrees Celsius, compared to the previous night's minus 3.5 degrees Celsius. Officials said that a weak western disturbance is expected to affect Jammu and Kashmir from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning. This influence may result in light rain or snow at select locations, particularly in higher elevations. Areas like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Gurez Valley, and Mughal Road are expected to experience light snowfall.

The meteorological department anticipates an improvement in minimum temperatures due to the feeble western disturbance until Sunday, after which there is a likelihood of the night temperatures falling by 1-3 degrees.(KNS)
