Karnah, Kupwara (KNS): Today, Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) Chairman, Engineer Rashid, addressed a gathering of around 600 people at Dakbanglow, Tangdar, in support of Karnah constituency candidate Fayaz Karnahi. During his speech, Engineer Rashid criticized opposition leaders Omar Abdullah and Sajad Lone, accusing them of conspiring to have him jailed in Tihar. He particularly targeted National Conference and People’s Conference leaders, referring to Sajad Lone as “Modi’s brother.”
In a bold and controversial statement, Rashid Engineer referred to the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan as a "line of blood," calling for improved relations between the two countries. He remarked that the people of Jammu and Kashmir want Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PoK) to be merged with India, echoing previous sentiments expressed by Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
However, Engineer Rashid went further, advocating for the removal of the LoC altogether. He argued that rather than maintaining territorial divisions, Kashmir should be granted autonomy, envisioning it as a unified region free from external disputes.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHis speech conveyed a strong message for peace and self-determination, suggesting that Kashmiris should be empowered to control their own future, thus ending decades of conflict.
Additionally, Rashid Engineer praised the ongoing construction of the Sharda Mandir in Teetwal, describing it as a positive step. He urged authorities to open cross-border routes, allowing Kashmiri Pandits to visit the Sharda Peeth in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and enabling Pakistanis to visit Kashmir. He also advocated for opening routes for religious pilgrimages, including Ziyarat sites in Pakistan.
On local development, Engineer Rashid promised to upgrade the local hospital from 30 to 100 beds, install a scanner at Sadhna Pass, and construct a mini stadium for the youth. He also stated that he would push in Parliament for special reservations for Karnah residents in the army, BSF, and police forces.(KNS)
