Run for Unity, Pledge Ceremonies, Photo Exhibition, and Ekta Tree Plantation Mark the Day
    
   
                            Handwara, Oct 31 (KNS) :Police District Handwara observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, also known as National Unity Day, with enthusiasm and public participation across the district. The day marks the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, who played a vital role in uniting the nation.
The main event was held at District Police Lines (DPL) Handwara, where police personnel took the Ekta Pledge to uphold the unity, integrity, and security of the country. The event also included a ceremonial march past showcasing the spirit of discipline and national unity.
Similar pledge ceremonies were conducted at all police sub-units across the district, highlighting the message of national cohesion and peace.
Earlier in the day, the “Run for Unity” was organised from Chotipora to Environmental Hall Handwara. The run saw enthusiastic participation from youth, students, and police officers. Speaking on the occasion, SSP Handwara Saran Sarangal said, “On 31st October, we organize multiple events like Run for Unity, Ekta Pledge, March Past, and Plantation Drives at police stations and chowkis. We also interact with school and college students. I request everyone to participate and celebrate Ekta Diwas with full spirit.”
The celebrations also included a Photo Exhibition on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and an “Ekta Vriksh” Tree Plantation Drive, symbolizing collective commitment to unity, integrity, and environmental protection.
The day’s activities reflected the values of togetherness, peace, and national pride inspired by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision of a united India.
