Chairman Jammu and kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (JKPDF) and former Minister Hakeem Yaseen on Tuesday urged the Center not to lower the prestige of kashmir by stripping off its administeative powers through bringing various amendments . He said the recent amendment to the Transaction of Business of the Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Rules, 2019 aims at to delegate more powers to the lieutenant governor on matters related to decisions on police, officers of all-India services and sanctioning prosecution in various cases . He said the amendment would undermine the authority of the elected government and Chief Minister?s chair in jammu and kashmir .
Addressing a big public gathering at Tangnar Doodhpathri , Hakeem Yaseen has urged the center not play with the emotions of the people and lower thier esteem by bringing different amendments including amendment to the Transaction of Business of the Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Rules, 2019. He said the amendment delegates more powers to the lieutenant governor on matters related to decisions on police, officers of all-India services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS), and sanctioning prosecution in various cases . He said reducing authrity of the elected government and down sizing of the Chief Ministers office would prove counter productive and futile in the long run .
Hakeem Yaseen said that the people of jammu and kashmir were secular and peace loving by conviction adding that they want to live a peaceful life with dignity and honour. Hakeem Yaseen also appealed Home Minister Amit Shah to announce restoration of statehood to jammu and kashmir ,in its original form , holding of early assembly elections and and restoration of all gaurantees granted to them under the constitution , to build an atmosphere of trust and confidence. He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been continuously deprived of their elected assembly and democratic rights for the past 9 years, due to which an atmosphere of political and social vacuum and uncertainty has been created here. He said that there is no response to public demands at the grass roots and the common people are completely deprived of basic facilities.
Hakeem Yaseen has also cautioned against machinations of opportunistic political parties who have bartared self respect of the people , during last 70 years , for satiating thier power lust. He said by playing with the sentiments of the people , the opportunistic political parties sowed the seeds of suspicion and alienation towards mainstream , that boomraged into the eruption militancy in 1990 . ,“ U see the people are still facing the brunt of that turmoil which has so far consumed precious lives of thousands of youth besides making thousands of children orphans, thousands of sisters widows, and property worth billions of rupees destroyed ,Hakeem Yaseen maintained.
PDP Chairman also launched a scathing criticism on the tourism development authorities TDAs of Tossamaidan ,Doodhpathri and Yusmarg for failing to build basic tourism infrastructure at these tourist resorts. He has appealed Chief Secretary Attal Dulloo to ask tourism department for making an integrated tourism development plan for these TDAs to give fresh impetus to tourism activities in these areas and opening new job opportunities for the unemployed youth .
