Srinagar, July 02 (KNS): The residents of Kreeri-Wagoora of North Kashmir's Baramulla District have taken to the streets, blocking roads to demand the immediate restoration of their water supply.

Locals reported that they have been facing water scarcity for the past 10-15 days. Despite the severe shortage, not a single official from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department has visited the area to address the issue or provide assurances about restoring the water supply.

The residents are calling for urgent action, warning that if the water supply is not restored soon, the situation could escalate.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

"We demand that the water supply be immediately restored, otherwise the consequences will be worse," said a local resident.

An Executive Engineer Jal.Shakti Baramulla told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that water distribution is being carried out in accordance with the registered households as per the JJM Guidelines. However, there are many households with pending registrations, which is affecting the water supply in the area.

The official clarified that there is no complete water scarcity, but the water pressure is low. To address this issue, water is being released for five consecutive days, and residents are encouraged to register their agreements to ensure a more efficient water distribution system.(KNS)
