 New Delhi, Nov 24 ((KNS): In a stunning turn of events at the IPL 2025 mega auction in Saudi Arabia, Rishabh Pant set a new record as the most expensive player in Indian Premier League history, fetching a massive ?27 crore from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Pant surpassed Shreyas Iyer, who was picked up by Punjab Kings (PBKS) shortly after.

The auction saw intense bidding wars as franchises sought their next captain, with four teams — Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Delhi Capitals — all vying for top leadership contenders.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelA total of 577 players were up for grabs, with 204 slots available and a collective purse of ?641.5 crore. Punjab Kings had the highest available funds, with ?110.5 crore, followed by RCB's ?83 crore and Delhi Capitals’ ?73 crore.
