Etched in our Hearts, not your books’: Sajad Lone to BOSE’s move

Srinagar, Dec 19 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (JKPC) Chief Sajad Lone has strongly condemned the decision of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) to remove a chapter based on the life of revered Kashmiri saint Sheikh Noor-U-Din Wali from the Class 9 syllabus.

Expressing his disapproval, Lone stated, “We have all revered him, and people irrespective of religion hold him in the highest esteem. This is pure cultural terrorism. It is an assault on our culture and ethos. I, as a Kashmiri, strongly condemn it.”

Highlighting the significance of Sheikh Noor-U-Din Wali's teachings, Lone emphasized that in the current era marked by violence, greed, and hatred, the saint serves as a beacon of hope and a role model.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"More than anytime in the past, the current times are smudged with violence, greed, and hatred. In these times, our great saint is a beacon of hope and a role model for emulation," he said.

Lone also took a sharp dig at BOSE, asserting that the legacy of Sheikh Noor-U-Din Wali transcends the institution. “For the BOSE removers—our great saint and his saintly ways were etched in our hearts and minds much before BOSE came into existence,” he remarked. (KNS)
