Srinagar, April 19 (KNS): J&K Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara Sajad Lone has urged the government to provide financial assistance to horticulturists affected by recent severe hailstorms that caused widespread damage across Kashmir.
In a statement released today, Lone described the destruction as having "wreaked havoc in different parts of Kashmir and left behind a trail of devastation and destruction," highlighting "massive losses for the horticulture sector.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"
He has urged the government to develop a comprehensive relief package "to help the horticulturists sustain and survive this loss."
Pertinently, Lone added that the unexpected hailstorm has dealt a significant blow to Kashmir's apple orchards and other fruit crops, which form the backbone of the region's agricultural economy.(KNS)
