"At Least Pay What They Were Getting": Sajad Lone to Govt

Srinagar, Jan 5 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (JKPC) chief and MLA Handwara, Sajad Lone, has urged the government to release the pending pensions and marriage assistance funds.

Lone highlighted that pensions for differently-abled persons, elderly citizens, and widows have not been paid for the last four months, while marriage assistance has been pending for eight months.

He also reminded the government of its election manifesto promise to increase pensions from ?Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel1,000 per month to ?3,000 and marriage assistance from ?50,000 to ?75,000. However, he stressed that even the existing payments have not been made.

“Please at least pay what they were already getting,” Lone stated, emphasizing the financial difficulties faced by beneficiaries.

His appeal comes as many affected individuals struggle to meet their basic needs. He urged authorities to act immediately and ensure the timely disbursement of funds. (KNS)
