Srinagar, July 21(KNS): Temperatures in Kashmir are expected to remain 3 to 6°C above normal over the next 48 hours, an independent weather forecaster said on Sunday.
In the Jammu region, temperatures are projected to stay 2 to 4°C above normal, particularly during the next 24 hours. Weather activities are anticipated to increase in the Jammu region during the late night and early morning from today onward.
In Kashmir, a few areas might experience short thundershowers during the next 48 hours. From Tuesday, weather activities are expected to increase, with temperatures likely to begin declining from Tuesday or Wednesday.
Srinagar recorded a temperature of 34.8°C, while Qazigund reached 32.4°C. Pahalgam saw a high of 31.5°C, and Kupwara recorded 35.4°C. In the Jammu region, Jammu reached 35.5°C, with Banihal at 31.4°C and Batote at 28.8°C. Bhaderwah recorded 33.4°C, while Katra was also at 31.4°C. Udhampur saw a high of 33.5°C, and Kathua reached 37.8°C. Poonch recorded 36.3°C, and Kishtwar was at 35.4°C. Samba had the highest temperature of 38.2°C, with Reasi at 36.1°C. Ramban's reading was faulty, and Rajouri's temperature was not available.
In Ladakh, Leh experienced a temperature of 28.8°C, Kargil was at 32.8°C, and Drass recorded a lower 26.9°C.(KNS).
