Sangrama Flyover on Srinagar-Uri National Highway Completed, Inauguration Soon

Baramulla, Nov 26(KNS): The much-awaited Sangrama flyover along the Srinagar-Uri National Highway has been completed, and traffic is now flowing smoothly in both directions.

An official said that the 600-meter flyover, constructed by the Border Roads Organization (BRO) under Project Beacon, aims to reduce the heavy traffic congestion that plagued the area.

He said that the official inauguration is expected soon. The flyover, built at an updated cost of around Rs 30 crore, is designed to ease traffic bottlenecks at one of the most critical junctions on the highway, which has long been notorious for frequent and severe traffic jams, the official said.

Locals and commuters have expressed relief following the completion of the project.

"Before the flyover, this area used to be a nightmare, with hours of delay during peak hours.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelNow, the flow is much smoother," said Arshid Ahmad, a local resident. "It’s a big improvement for everyone traveling along this route."

For taxi driver Imran Khan, the flyover has made a noticeable difference. "Earlier, it could take more than an hour to cross this stretch, but now, it’s much faster. It saves both time and fuel, which helps us a lot."

Business owners in the area have also welcomed the development. "The congestion was not only a hassle for travelers but also affected our businesses," said Sameer Ali, a shopkeeper in the Sangrama area. "Now, things seem to be improving, and we hope this will bring more customers."

The completion of the flyover is expected to improve connectivity between Srinagar and Uri, reducing travel time and ensuring better mobility across north Kashmir.(KNS).
