KUPWARA, DECEMBER 27 (KNS): Secretary, Transport, Prasanna Ramaswamy G, today visited Kupwara and presided over a mega public darbar at Degree College to take stock of issues faced by the people.
The event witnessed overwhelming response from PRIs and general public who voiced their concerns on a wide range of issues
Vice Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir, ADDC Kupwara, Altaf Ahmad Khan, ADC Kupwara, Gh Nabi Bhat, DDC member Drugmulla, Advocate Amina Majeed, BDC Chairpersons, Principal Government Degree College Kupwara, Mohammed Shafi Lone, District officers, PRIs, besides various delegations and a large number of people were present in the Public Outreach programme.
Addressing at the event, Prasana Ramaswami, stressed to make Public Darbars a productive, interactive and two way communication process. He said that the government is committed to serve the common masses with added accountability and transparency, in a time bound manner.
Secretary emphasized on prioritizing grievances and asked the public to keep regular follow up of every issue until it reaches a logical conclusion. He said that he will assist in perusal of their specific community based grievances. He said that the main aim of conducting Public Darbar is to have a convergent bridge between the administration and the people, adding that the theme of Public Darbar is “Administration at the door steps of People”.
Secretary interacted with beneficiaries of various welfare schemes, minutely discussed the economic model of each business unit and sought feedback regarding scope of improvement.
Beneficiaries, on the occasion, demanded that a proper training regarding value addition of milk products, vermi composting and other allied fields should be imparted to progressive farmers and entrepreneurs.
During the Public darbar, students of Government Degree College Kupwara raised their concerns regarding shortage of public transport from Kupwara to Bohipora.
Secretary directed ARTO Kupwara to address the issue and ensure that route plan and fare charges are given wide publicity.
While taking cognizance of the grievances raised by the general public, the Secretary sought the response of concerned officers and said that their specific grievances will be taken up with the concerned quarter for timely and early action.
