Srinagar, Nov 2 (KNS): In a major counter-terrorism operation, the Indian Army has killed two terrorists in the Halkan Gali area of Anantnag.
As per the statement issued here, the operation, based on detailed intelligence gathered over a month, targeted individuals responsible for several recent attacks, including the October 8 attack on Rifleman Hilal Ahmad Bhat of 162 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army). The terrorists were also linked to incidents in Halan, Bijbiara, and Shangus areas.
Around 11:45 AM on November 2, security forces observed suspicious movements and challenged the suspects, who responded with gunfire. A senior Army official highlighted the crucial support from Anantnag and Kulgam residents, whose cooperation helped make the operation a success. "This cooperation shows our shared commitment to bring peace to Kashmir," the official noted.
