Bandipora, Aug 10 (KNS): The seven-day annual Urs of Hazrat Sayed Rasool Shah (RA) popularly known as Nanga Baji Sahib (RA) concluded at Village Malangam, in district Bandipora on Saturday.
The Urs Mubarak of Janab Nanga Baji Sahib (RA) is celebrated annually at the residence of his grandson and a highly revered Sufi Saint of Jammu and Kashmir, Syed Wilayat Shah, who is popularly known among his Sajada Nisheen as Baji Sahab of Malangam.
On the concluding day Urs Mubarak, recitation of the holy Quran and special prayers were held besides praying for peace, prosperity and tranquility in the State and country.
During the concluding ceremony, customary flag was hosited at the shrine besides laying a special Chadder on the tomb of the Sufi Saint.
This year also thousands of devotees paid obeisance to have the blessings of Sayed Wilayat the grandson of Nanga Baji Sab (RA).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
During the Urs free langer (community kitchen) was organized for the devotees.
Syed Wilayat, the grandson of Nanga Baji Sahib, (RA) commands a large number of followers and has been organizing the annual Urs for last several years.
The Urs is commemorated at his residence and thousands of devotees come here to seek blessings and enjoy the community meal that is served as a sacrament.
The message of harmony comes out loud and clear from these Sufi sites and it simply reaffirms the fact that amity between different communities has been a way of life in India since ages and it will continue to strengthen the social fabric in times to come as well.The Urs also attracts many people as there is a widespread belief that all the wishes of the devotees who pay obeisance here are fulfilled.
