Bandipora, Aug 21(KNS): Several quantials of rice have been found decayed in Government supply in Bandipora district of north Kashmir, officials take samples.
Sources said that several of rice were found decayed in a government supply sent to FP shop in Bandipora, locals allege negligence of officials, saying the loading and unloading should happen under supervision of officials but they utilize labors in that.
Official sources from the department of food said that the sample was taken by the food safety department after the complaint of decayed rice received during the unloading of rice from the vehicle.

Earlier, KNS reported that private Fair Price shop dealers are running government sale centers while government storekeepers are ignoring this issue, indicating illegal and unethical practices by the department.
"Hamals (laborers) under the Minimum Wages Guarantee Act are meant to handle only the loading and unloading of food grains. However, they are being used directly in government stores and performing duties similar to those of storekeepers.(KNS).
