Srinagar December 29 (KNS): Following the heavy snowfall that blanketed theKashmir Valley, Congress leader Dr. Waleed Karra, under the directions of JKPCCChief and MLA Central Shalteng Tariq Hameed Karra, has spearheaded efforts toprovide swift relief to the residents of the Central Shalteng constituencyresidents. Over the past two days, Dr. Waleed has personally overseen snowclearance operations, ensuring that both main roads and inner lanes remainaccessible for smooth movement.
During his visit to several areas today, including Maloora, Shalteng, Abban Shah, HMT and adjoining localities, residents raised concerns about delayed snow clearance by the district administration.
The situation led to protests over the neglect of inner lanes. Acting promptly, Dr. Waleed Karra personally intervened, arranged local resources such as tractors and workers to clear snow in Maloora and surrounding areas.
Speaking to the residents, Dr. Waleed Karra criticized the challenges posed by the ongoing dual governance system in Jammu & Kashmir and underscored the urgency of restoring full statehood.
"The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve full empowered local government to address their needs effectively. The promises of statehood and empowerment must be fulfilled immediately. Only then can we truly work tirelessly for the welfare of our people," he emphasized.
Dr. Waleed also commended the people of Kashmir for upholding the spirit of Kashmiriyat by providing shelter, food and warmth to stranded tourists during recent heavy snowfall and harsh winters.

Your hard work ensured that essential services remained uninterrupted and public inconvenience was minimized," he said.
